ABOUT US
Happy Voices was founded in 2017 by Helen Washington.
She wanted to set up a community choir that shared her love of Musical Theatre, using live musicians for the concerts.
The choir began with just a few members at Lostock and has now expanded to 3 choirs and over 80 members!
We sing Musical Theatre and popular songs in 2, 3 and 4-part harmony and have done 3 tours to Chester, North Wales and Lytham, raising hundreds of pounds for local charities including Bolton Hospice, Trinity Hospice, Blackpool St. David’s Hospice, N.Wales Chester Hospice & Kitty Rescue.
Performance venues have included supermarkets, town halls, festivals and Chorley Live as well as many appearances in care homes and hospices.
We do at least one concert a year with a live band!
Our summer season sees multiple cabarets, again with a live band and lots of workshops.
We have been extremely fortunate to have West End professionals work with us. These include Musical Director, Alan Berry, Director Kris Hedges-Manuel and vocalists, Craig Price and Jennifer Tierney. Vocal specialists have included Gareth Ellis, Jacqui Podoski and Rebekah Pritchard (from Edge Hill).
